2026年9月13日、パタン王宮広場のそばにカフェ＆バー「イサラ」がオープンします。店がひとつできれば、バリスタ、ウェイター、バーテンダーと、役割がいくつも生まれます。ISHARA, a cafe & bar beside Patan Durbar Square, opens on 13 September 2026. One cafe creates many roles at once — barista, waiter, bartender.
デフヒーローは、デフ柔道の道場から始まりました。「ネパール代表」という役割が、子どもたちの人生を変えていくのを見てきました。そして気づきました。働く場所さえあれば、役割はもっと増やせる。Deaf Hero began with the Deaf judo dojo. We watched the role of "representing Nepal" change children's lives — and realized something: with a place to work, we can create far more roles.
ネパールでは、ろう者が仕事に就くのは、まだ簡単ではありません。だったら、自分たちで働く場所を作ればいい。そうして生まれたのが、カフェ＆バー「イサラ」です。In Nepal, finding work is still not easy for Deaf people. So we decided to build a place to work ourselves. That is how ISHARA, our cafe & bar, was born.
目指しているのは、「ろう者の店」として珍しがられることではありません。パタンの人にも、旅行者にも、ただ「いい店」として通ってもらうこと。それが、いちばん長く続く雇用になると信じています。Our goal is not to be visited as "the Deaf cafe". We want locals and travellers to keep coming back simply because it is a good place — that is the kind of employment that lasts.

ろう者と聴者が身ぶりでつながる店になるように——この名前には、私たちの願いがそのまま入っています。Nepali for a sign, a gesture — something that reaches you without a word.
A place where Deaf and hearing people connect by gesture: the name carries our hope exactly.

ネパールで唯一のデフ柔道場。約100人の子どもが通い、2人がデフリンピックの代表になりました。月々のサポーターを募集しています。Nepal's only Deaf judo dojo. About 100 children train here, and two went on to represent Nepal at the Deaflympics. Monthly supporters welcome.
